Yoga For Beginners Classes

For all new students or those with up to two years’ experience of Iyengar yoga.

Basic postures are taught to develop strength, stamina and flexibility and they are suitable for any age group. Sanskrit names for the postures are given, but don’t worry, you’re not expected to learn them all at once.

There are two or three Yoga for Beginners classes every day, all run on a drop-in basis. There is no need to book, but it is best to arrive around 10–15 minutes before your class, especially at weekends and evenings. Students with experience of other styles of yoga are advised to attend our six week Introduction to Iyengar Course first to familiarise themselves with the Iyengar method’s basic principles.
